In the city of Rancho Mirage, Del Webb Construction is building a brand new “Sun City” development, which will eventually have a few thousand homes. The Rancho Mirage defines itself as the “premier 55+ active adult neighborhood”, and will include a clubhouse along with a fitness complex housing a gym, aerobic studio, billiards room, conference room, and numerous ballrooms. Additionally, the neighborhood has pools, golf courses, hiking and walking trails, and tennis and pickleball courts.
In Palm Springs, the median sale price for properties in July 2018 is $555,000. A year ago in July 2017, there was a median sale price of $621,000. In July 2017, there were 88 property sales, with the inventory of homes on the market decreasing to 48 in July 2018. Homes averaged 58 days on the market in Palm Springs in July.
