Salah became a notary public in 2005.
“At the time I covered five counties around the Detroit area. Today I cover two.”
After two decades in the profession, Salah continues to find being a notary a very fulfilling career.
“First, the signing agent business puts you in a good financial position compared to other small businesses or jobs. It gives you the potential to grow year by year. The other aspect of this job that I like is that I’m providing a professional service to people who come from different socioeconomical backgrounds.”
Sometimes a transaction may face an obstacle. Salah feels that as a notary you can make a positive difference.
“The notary agent is the one who is on the ground and can see where the problem lies. Because of this you can provide a solution that will put the transaction back on track.”
A client group Salah especially enjoys working for is senior citizens.
“The thing that really makes me feel happy and satisfied is when I’m able to assist an elderly person. Every time I help an elderly person in a difficult situation it is one of the best moments of my job.”
The definition of ‘professional’ has various meanings for Salah.
“Being a professional as a notary means to be punctual, be a reliable source for others, have experience with the documents, and have the drive to help. These are important attributes because people and companies depend on you to witness important documents and pay attention to details.”
