James began in retail management but was always drawn to real estate and wanted a more analytical and independent profession.
“In 2004, I made the decision to transition into appraising and earned my license that same year. Since then, I’ve built a career providing residential appraisal services throughout Palm Beach County.”
The opportunity to provide independent, unbiased analysis that plays a critical role in real estate transactions is what James finds most rewarding about being an appraiser.
“Every property is unique, and I enjoy the challenge of solving valuation problems, interpreting market trends, and producing credible results that clients can rely on.”
James is always prepared to go above and beyond for his clients.
“One example that stands out was during an assignment where the homeowner was elderly and confused about the appraisal process. I took extra time to walk them through what to expect, answered their questions, and ensured they felt comfortable throughout the inspection.”
Professionalism is something that is integral to every facet of what James does as an appraiser.
“To me, being professional means maintaining integrity, objectivity, and consistency in every assignment. It involves clear communication, meeting deadlines, adhering to USPAP and client guidelines, and presenting well-supported opinions of value.”
The area James serves, Palm Beach County, is experiencing notable growth with several key developments attracting new homebuyers.
“Major projects include a master-planned community in the northern portion of the county with 3,900 new homes and a town center, the continued revitalization of downtown West Palm Beach, and redevelopment efforts in the central and eastern portions of the county.”
Even so, the uptick in home prices has been just a modest 2.27%.
“The median single-family home price in Palm Beach County in the current year is $675,000 vs $660,000 last year.”
