Silvia used to work for a title company as an escrow officer, which required her to hold a notary license in order to service clients better. She became a notary in 2018 and currently services Santa Clara County in Northern California.
What Silvia finds most rewarding is being part of such an important milestone in people’s lives. Homeownership often represents years of hard work and dreams, and she loves knowing that she plays a key role in helping make that possible. Seeing clients feel confident and at ease during the signing process gives her a true sense of fulfillment.
There was a closing where the borrowers had a lot of questions and were visibly nervous because it was their first home purchase. Silvia took the extra time to walk them through each step carefully, making sure they felt comfortable before moving forward. She also coordinated closely with the lender and title company to ensure all documents were in perfect order before the appointment. The clients later told her that her patience and professionalism helped turn what felt overwhelming into a smooth and positive experience.
To Silvia, professionalism means showing up prepared, on time, and with the mindset to treat every client with respect and care. It also means protecting confidentiality, handling documents with precision, and representing the lender, title company, and notary community with integrity. It is important because the closing table is where trust matters most; clients need to feel secure that their transaction is being handled correctly and respectfully.
