David began his career at IBM after college but quickly realized the corporate environment wasn’t the right fit for him. Wanting to build something of his own, he turned to a family friend in Colorado who worked as both an appraiser and Realtor.
“I decided to learn both appraising and selling real estate at the same time. When I moved to NY in 2010, I knew I wanted to only do appraising.”
For David, the most rewarding part of being an appraiser is the independence the profession provides.
“The most rewarding things about being an appraiser is the flexibility of your time and being able to determine your future.”
David is also committed to helping clients whenever needed, even under tight timelines.
“The most recent time was when I went to do a final inspection at 7:30 PM at night on a Friday with a five minute notice because the lender needed it done ASAP.”
Professionalism is central to how David approaches his work.
“Being a professional encompasses many characteristics, but taking care of the client is the most important. Obviously, one needs to be a competent appraiser, but taking care of the client will always lead to better relationships and more relationships. That is what all businesses thrive on.”
He was introduced to Solidifi through another appraiser and soon learned the value of the partnership.
“I had no idea that Solidifi would become one of my largest clients.”
David notes that Westchester County continues to draw buyers from Manhattan and other NYC boroughs.
“Westchester County has seen a lot of home buyers coming from Manhattan and other boroughs of NYC since COVID and the trend has continued. The northeast as a whole is a strong market.”
He also reports rising prices and steady demand.
“The median sales price in Westchester County, NY is $950,000. It has gone up 8.9% year over year.”
When looking at sales activity, David shares:
“292 vs 420 last month.”
And on inventory:
“1675 homes for sale. There are no historic listing stats.”
Days on market remain very similar to last year.
“DOM 37 vs 38 DOM last year.”
