After ten years working in interbank and corporate foreign exchange trading at banks, William began looking for a profession that offered a work/life balance and more time to enjoy watching his children grow up. He chose property appraising.
“I became licensed in September 2007.”
William enjoys the people aspect of being an appraiser.
“I find the applicants that I encounter on a daily basis to be pleasant and courteous.”
As part of the service he provides, William aims to make the appraisal inspection as convenient for the applicant as possible.
“Once, I was conducting an appraisal late in the day to accommodate a single parent who worked two jobs. To get a proper view of the property, the two of us shined our car lights onto the front of the house.”
For William, courtesy and professionalism is something he always extends to applicants.
“Although the applicant is not our client, we are invading their home. That’s why it’s important to be clear as to what is going to take place with an accurate expectation of time spent to ease any apprehension on the part of the applicant.”
In Metropolitan Orlando, the area William services, big dollars are being spent on updating infrastructure.
“The Metroplan Orlando, a regional transportation partnership, is investing $27.9 billion dollars to engender reliable safe connections in central Florida. In Audubon Park, an Orlando neighborhood where I reside, one project will see Corrine Drive converted into a road diet. This will have a positive effect on the area.”
As for the marketplace, year over year pricing and inventory have remained steady but sales are a different story.
“For example, in Audubon Park’s 32803 zip code median sale prices have fluctuated between $435,000-$450,000 over the past year and are stable. The number of sales, however, are a third of what they were a year ago as are the number of days on market.
